Eagle's complete uninstallation process involves removing both the application and its related data files. Follow these steps to ensure you've properly removed all components and reclaimed disk space.

Uninstallation Steps

Close Eagle completely

Ensure Eagle is fully closed to prevent any "file in use" errors during deletion.
Remove the Eagle application
- Windows: Delete the Eagle folder from your "Program Files" directory
- macOS: Delete Eagle from your "Applications" folder
Delete application cache and settings

Remove configuration and cache data:
- Windows: Delete the Eagle folder at C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Eagle
- macOS: Delete the Eagle folder at ~/Library/Application Support/Eagle
Remove Eagle libraries

IMPORTANT: Libraries contain all your original files, collections, categories, and tags. Once deleted, this organization cannot be restored. Consider backing up before proceeding.

Before deletion, we strongly recommend:
- Backing up your libraries
- Exporting images to your computer
After backing up, delete libraries by:
1. Switching to another library or creating a temporary empty library
2. Clicking the library name to open the library menu
3. Locating the library you wish to delete
4. Clicking the three dots (⋮) next to it and selecting "Reveal in File Explorer/Finder"
5. Moving the entire library folder to trash
Empty the Recycle Bin/Trash

Complete the process by emptying your system's Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (macOS) to permanently free up disk space.
