Problem Background

We discovered on January 23, 2025 that Pinterest made significant adjustments to its API, causing the Pinterest reverse image search plugin to temporarily fail to retrieve search results. We have now fixed this issue and released a new plugin version.

Solution

If your plugin version is lower than 1.1.4, please go to the Plugin Center to update to the latest version and try again.

Additionally, starting from version 1.1.4, using the plugin requires you to first log in to your Pinterest account. This change is necessary due to Pinterest's official adjustment to API access rules, otherwise the plugin will not function properly.

If your Pinterest account was registered through Google or other third-party social platforms and you haven't set up an email or password yet, you need to manually set up login credentials to use the plugin smoothly. Please follow these steps:

Open the Pinterest personal account settings page
In the left navigation menu, click "Account management"
On that page, set up your login email and password

After completing the above steps, you can use the plugin to log in to your Pinterest account.

Still can't use it? Check if Eagle can access Pinterest

Even if your browser can open Pinterest, the Eagle application itself must also have the ability to access Pinterest. Many users' VPN tools only work for browsers, but Eagle is an independent application that cannot access Pinterest through these browser-only proxies. Therefore, you need to ensure that Eagle itself can connect to Pinterest, not just that your browser can access it.

How to ensure Eagle can also access Pinterest?

Check your network settings
- Access Pinterest's official website in your browser. If it doesn't open, your network environment may not support access.
- But even if you can open Pinterest, Eagle may still be unable to access it!
Try switching VPN or adjusting IP address
- If you're already using a global proxy or VPN but still can't use the plugin, your IP might be restricted by Pinterest. Try switching to different servers or proxy modes.
